April - A busy month

April started with a much awaited trip to Chicago during Noelle's Spring Break.  Unfortunatly, there was way too much build up for me, so I was more than disappointed when the kids whined and threw tantrums the entire time.  We ended up cutting the trip short.  The first picture below pretty much sums it up.  However, there were a few highlights for both kids, namely sitting in a real, live, full size John Deere tractor, watching the aquatic show at the Shedd Aquarium, and visiting the American Girl Doll store.

Brian and I enjoyed another trip in April-- the 2012 Boston Marathon!!!  Brian qualified last May, so he's really been  looking forward to this and was hoping to do run under 3 hours, which would have been her personal best.  Unfortunately, it was an unseasonable 86 degrees that day, so by mile 5, he was hoping just to finish.  But I was able to meet up with some dear friends, and we had a great time.

Bonus Post: Snow, short hair, and plastic shoes

Finally---snow!!!!!! Sadly, I think we just got the biggest snowfall of the season....in March. What a better way to celebrate than building a snowman. I think this was a first for our kids!
Modeling his short hair cut and his awful, gigantic, plastic, light up shoes. Somehow I managed to avoid such shoes with Noelle, but alas, I caved to Wesley. He wore them until bedtime and kept saying, "Wanna see my super cool shoes?"

February - The Month in Review

Ponytails, Valentine's Day, a birthday, and some trips with friends.....

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a boy in pigtails....

Che-eeeze! Happy Valentine's Day!

A trip to the Crivitiz area with some of Brian's college friends. The dad's are doing a sled race with the kids. Brian was, of course, victorious.

A trip to my old hood- New Jersey. Sadly, I took no pictures of my dear friends Rebecca and Matt, but here are Noelle, Emmett and Wesley on the couch trying hard to smile but also keep watching Cars.

Happy 3rd Birthday Wesley!

New Year's Resolution

This is month 1 of my New Year's resolution to post at least monthly, so here's January:

A Girl Scout trip to the pet store where the girls got to hold geckos, tarantulas, snakes, starfish, birds, cats, dogs and birds.

Finally.......snow!

Noelle did a dance camp with the Monoa Grove Dance Team and then got to perform during half-time at a boys basketball game. Here she is shakin' what her mama gave her!

Modeling new undies. We're hoping it might inspire use of the potty! Look at that cute butt!

In August I said I was going to try to post monthly....and here it is January 2012! I'll try to be better this year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Other random things in August

No one that reads this blog will ever care about this, but in the center is Frank Schleck, who came in 3rd place in this year's Tour de France. His brother Andy was also at this gathering but we couldn't find him to take a picture with him. Brian got to spend some additional time with them at Trek events during the week.

A view from below at the Capit0l in Madison.

Camping with the Patel's and Havilands. It was a great time, expect for when Wesley and I drove home at 4:00 am Saturday morning because he refused to sleep. We were back to the park at 9:30 the next morning ready for our hike! Night #2 was much better....unless your last name is Patel and you had 2 inches of water in your tent...
