Sorry it's taken me so long to post-- this is harder than I thought....ok, not harder than I thought, but I was crossing my fingers that it might be easier :) We're trying to bond with Wesley, make sure Noelle doesn't feel left out, and keep some kind of order around the house. Not easy on only 5 hours of sleep per night. Noelle is taking it a little harder than I'd hoped, although she really loves her new baby brother (as you can see from the photos) and takes every opportunity that she can to hold him and kiss him. Overall we're doing well and enjoying our expanding family!
Some of you already know the labor and delivery story, but I'll give you the run-down:
8:25 pm started timing my contractions, which I wasn't even sure were really contractions
8:40 noticed my contractions were already 5 minutes apart, although not strong, and told Brian that I thought I MIGHT be in labr
9:00 called my mom to say that I might be in labor, could she come to stay with Noelle
9:03 water broke
9:04 called my mom to say I was definintely in labor and that one of Brian's friends would be at the house when she got there
9:20 Brian's friend shows up
9:20-9:40 very painful drive to hospital, lots of contractions, afraid I won't be able to get an epidural because contractions are coming on so fast
9:40ish arrive at hospital, already 9.5 cm dilated, told there was no time for an epidural. So I cried.
10:18 pm baby Wesley was born after only 6 minutes of pushing. Baby Wesley looked so much like Noelle when he was born that I had a hard time refering to him as a "him".
